That's the only line that I struggled with. It helps if you know that the note names Sol = G, Do = C, Si = B, and Mi = E. So here's my high school Spanish translation (forgive me if I'm wrong):

Also, I didn't know Straubinger made slippers!

I wanna try one of those flutes, by the way. It's too bad I didn't think about it sooner (I saw them on the site a week or 2 ago). I was at Flute World today and kind of just sat in my car for an hour in the parking lot with nothing to do after I bought my music. Haha. What? I had a lesson and thought I would've spent more time in there. Instead a bought a new computer which was almost as much as one of those flutes. Good ol' Mac.

NOTE: Sonare IS NOT Powell. I HATE it when people say that. The headjoint isn't even Powell! It's like... pseudo-Powell or Powell gone bad......... Anywho, just wanted to try it

Sonare flutes have Powell headjoints. The headjoints are made at the Powell shop by the same people who make the "regular" Powell headjoints. I visited a few weeks ago and met the headjoint makers and saw the headjoints for the Sonare flutes being made. I played them and they were all great.

mbrowne1229 - I'm not sure what you tried but you are right a Sonare flute is not a Powell flute. But a Powell headjoint is a Powell headjoint. I did find the cut of the Sonare headjoint to be too free for me but I am a professional flutist and the Sonare would not be appropriate for my playing. The Sonare is a great flute and a great value for any student or intermediate level flutist.

I've never heard of Resona but a quick google search turned up that it is the Burkart equivalent to the Sonare - just like the other brands mentioned by fluteypiccolosax.

I have to agree with Cindy about Sonare flutes. I am a freelance player and teacher in Boston and my pride and joy is my Powell flute. When looking for instruments for my students, however, I've always found Sonare to be the favorite, with Altus coming in second. I too have had the chance to visit the Powell factory and had the opportunity to speak with them about the Sonare. I don't know if it's common knowledge yet, but I learned that the body is now made at Powell too- with the Powell scale. The only thing that is done abroad is the keywork and the assembly. These flutes are top notch and anyone who hasn't tried the new ones (since 2009)is missing out on a fabulous step-up flute for the intermediate and advanced player. Haven't tried the Resona yet...

Ooh.. another Powell fan! I am too and my Powell was also my pride and joy until I had to sell it and get a lighter flute due to hand problems I will always be a Powell fan for life though.

Regarding the Sonare flutes. I didn't use to like them, but improvements have been made on them and now I think that are pretty good. I was surprised with them when I was able to try them out this year at the Florida flute fair. I still don't like the headjoint style on them, they are also too free blowing for me. But, would be good for a student that has not worked there embouchure up to take more resistance yet.

I should also add that I did finally get to try a couple Resona flutes. I thought that they felt very nice in the hands and seemed well built with a nice headjoint. They play too bright for my taste. I am not a huge Burkart fan though and they do play bright like them.
