The only reason the recorder isn,t a mainstreem insrument is because of it`s range.(C D E F F# G A B C D) So to play the simpsons song you start: C E F# A G E C, Then you transpose last phrase and play it in the same octave, A F# F# F# G F# F# F# G Bb(Just play B) C C C C. It`s hard and it sounds a little funkey. But Its meant to be played on the trumpet an octave higher. So If you don`t like it I suggest you learn another instrument. Y`know, one that plays a full chromatic scale. I Play 3 intruments, if you consider the recorder one, and play them good. So good luck!

Who says a recorder can`t play a chromatic scale?? Of course it can! But yes.. the range is rather narrow.. 2 and a half octaves?

yeah i learned it last year in grade 6 but we only played some of the notes becasue some of them were too complex for the recorder so our teacher wud just play them on the piano!
