New Tenor Sax section on 8notes

We've had some requests for Tenor sax versions of some of the pieces on 8notes, so we thought it was high time we kicked off the tenor saxophone section

Add Melodies to your post

In an exciting new move, you can now add single line melodies to your posts at 8notes.
When you type your post there is a new 'Add Melody' button which opens a fully interactive staff window. Create your tune and click 'Add to Post'. A code then appears in the forum post where the tune should go. You can carry on posting after the code and add as many melodies as you want.

Bass music for 8notes - suggestions requested

We`re looking for some good ideas for our bass guitar section here at 8notes- bear in mind we can`t add anything that`s still in copyright, but we can do general musical styles and riffs -
Any suggestions anyone has would be gratefully received.
Parts now available on request to all subscribers

New features coming thick and fast at the moment - as a subscriber you may now download parts for any of our pieces. Where the parts are not yet available you can put in a request and we will make the parts up for you - usually within 48 hours.
Parts (or the link to request them) are available on the Score Info page for each piece.
New Funeral Section

8notes Mail

You can now send a private message to other 8notes.com members using our new 8notes Mail system.
To send someone a message go to their profile page and click the `Send Mail` button. That member will then get an email telling them they have new mail in their 8notes mailbox.
Alternatively, go to your account page and click the Mail tab, followed by New Mail - then enter the username of the member you wish to contact.
If you don`t wish to let people contact you in this way you can change the settings on the "edit profile" tab of your account page.
Missing Folk Songs Refound

We`ve a few people write in to ask where the folk songs database had gone - sure enough it had got misplaced in the site redesign that happened recently. There`s now a new folk song box under the styles tab with links to all 4000+ songs.

Transpositions available for subscribers

From today subscribers can request new transpositions of any of the pieces on 8notes.com. On the score info page for each piece there is a list of alternative keys available, and a link to request new transpositions.
For now we`re not putting any restrictions on the numbers of transpositions subscribers can request but please use the service responsibly, to ensure we are able to fulfill as many requests as possible.
Search 8notes for guitar chords, musical terms and more.

We`ve made some changes to the 8notes search today so you can use the search box at the top of the page for more than just sheet music.
You can now also search for guitar and piano chords eg. G7 or musical terms like allegro
