I too am trying to find the sheet music...for my son who plays the violin. I found this on sheetmusicplus.com [Quintet No. 6, Op. 57 (Op. posth.) `The Military Night Watch in Madrid` (PHILIPP)] Unfortunately, I don`t know enough about music to know if this is the piece. (I do know this is the translation.) If this is not the piece, please let me know.

Actually, the piece is:
"Passacalle" from Op.30 No.6 Quintettino for Strings in C Major "La musica notturna delle strade di Madrid" G.324 (not G.349). The "G" in G.324 is the Gerard catalog number.

I`m looking for it as well. Be careful, though, sheetmusicplus.com has "Quintet in C major (with 2 Cellos) (LAUTERBACH)" from International Music Company IMC 575 - I have it and that`s not it.

The translation of the title is "Night Music of the Streets of Madrid".

Hope you find it...let me know if you do.

I bought the piece (and it is the right one) from Portland Music Company (800-452-2991, www.portlandmusiccompany.com). It`s great.

You can get the Boccherini piece at the Portland Music Company http://www.portlandmusiccompany.com/sheetmusic.html Their phone # is 800-452-2991. I just got it a week ago and love it. There is no piano trascription that I know of, but you could easily do that yourself with a music editing program like Finale.

Andrew,
I`ve been on the phone with Portland Music Company and they are having trouble finding the music. I gave the information that you had said earlier in the post and they said that they can`t find it. They want to know who the publisher is. Would you kindly post more information ?

Andrew,

Let me get this straight -- is this what we`re all looking for ?? :

Boccherini. Passacalle from Op.30 No.6 quintettino for strings in C Major. "La Musica Notturna Delle Strade Di Madrid G324 (not 349) ? You bought this from Portland Music Company , but is the publisher International Music Company with a reference of IMC 575 Quintet in C Major with 2 cellos (Lauterbach) ?? I`m confused !

Well, I think I may have found it from INternational Music through Luck`s Music Library. Here`s the link. I hope it takes you to the correct place. If not, the catalog # is 660-5510. I`ve ordered it and hopefully it`s the right one. I`ll let you all know. http://lucksmusic.com/cat-solo/ecat-solo.asp?Composition=&Composer=boccherini&CatalogNo=&Editor=&Grade=All&Catagory=All&SubCatagory=All&Theme=All&StartRec=31&RPP=10

With all due respect, I have good news and bad news:

Bad news I don`t think that Luck`s Music catalog #660-5510 is the right one either. It`s Opus 57 Number 6, and we`re looking for Opus 30 Number 6. `Classical` composers used to publish their music in collections. Each collection was called an opus (work). The `number` is the number of the piece within the collection. On the bright side, perhaps you`ll like Op.57 No.6 even better than Op.30 No.6

Good news Luck`s Music DOES appear to have Op.30/6 ! It`s catalog #550-6203: http://www.lucksmusic.net/featured/featureddetail-solo.asp?CatalogNo=550-6203
Upon further digging, I think I`ve found it at Volkwein`s Music as well:
http://www.volkweins.com/inst/I22-5-STRING%20MIXED%20ENSEMBLE-QUINTET.htm
(look for item MMC.M3357)
They both seem to be the same score, published by Masters Music. Thanks Diane for finding lucksmusic.net! I was ready to give up. Good hunting everybody!
