Hello~! I am now trying to learn the flute on my own and have heard people saying that it is necessary to have the captioned key pressed through the notes (ie. E,F,F#,G,G#...etc) I have also heard others that say it wouldn`t make any difference! I mean it doesn`t seem to make any difference to the sound... So can someone please give me their verdict??

WHO TELL YOU THAT IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE SOUND?
BELIVE ME, THERE IS A GREAT DIFFERENCE IN THE QUALITY OF THE SOUND WHEN YOU DONīT PRESS IT. AND IF YOU`R LEARNING FOR YOUR OWN, YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THE FINGERING!

This is true, you can totally tell a difference in the sound. It`ll either be flat or sharp, just off-pitch all together! I`m only 15, but I`ve played the flute for 5 years, and I play like, every single day. I love my flute to death!! Good luck learning on your own, it can be difficult. Haha, you should have seen me trying to play fourth octave F for the first time. But anyway, yeah, how you finger your notes makes a world of difference.
