I play flute and picc but am interested in getting some whistles. Can anyone tell me about playing them and if there could be a use for them in a community band setting? I love the sound of them in small combo settings and play along CDs. A C flute can be played in all keys but what about these whistles...I know they come in different keys; does one need a different whistle for each key that might be played? Also, what brands are best and what about the intonation issue. I see that some are tuneable, is that the way to go?
Any information will be appreciated.
