so i got home from music camp and i sound TERRIBLE.
practicing is painful because my tone is so awful.
i suspect it has something to do with playing in band for six hours every day.
i dont know what to do.
im just upset and irritated.
Something my professor has told me is that there will be times that you attain a goal and feel fantastic about yourself...but if you don't play that well the next time, you feel like you suck. She says that your expectations get higher when reach that level, and that's it. The better you get, the more and higher expectations you have. That could be a possibility also.
the lesson here is to try as best you can to surround yourself with good musicians, you will tend to go up to their level, the opposite may happen if you hang out with lazy hacks..
I know that my teacher says it's better to take a lot of little practices than one long one. I have experienced that too. After so long, my air starts to get to slower and slower and better you know it I'm am unable to play. But if I do get tired he lets me take a brake every now and then.
