Unfortunately there are not the resources the monitor this forum full time, we cannot respond and follow up on all accusations. What we will be doing is removing insulting posts where possible, and that includes 'troll alert' postings. It is true that the best way to deal with internet trolls is to ignore them, but posting 'troll alert' is still a form of response so please don't do that either. We will do our best to remove insulting or agressive posting, but please try to respond to members in a polite and friendly manner even when you disagree with them.

Wow. I can't believe that.
I understand that one's life shouldn't revolve around the forum...but its sooo frustrating that we just have to DEAL WITH IT. Its like being a teen in high school, and bullied constantly bullied and harrassed by peers, and when you complain to an administrator, you get the old, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do" routine.
I find it very difficult to just bite my tounge when I'm enduring such offensive, insulting remarks directed towards my self and my friends. (Kara!!)
Its almost disgusting, and I'm just not buying the fact that we can't do anything more about it.

Jim
I've edited your post as some of your comments would only inflame the situation. If you would like to stay on the forums here, please keep all comments from now on, as you suggest concerning your two posts - on the topic of flutes and flute playing.

No, I am not back to post for good, only on this matter as I am highly irritated.

So I guess it is okay for Phil and Jim to come on here and slam everyone and they are not kicked off the forum, even though no one wants them here. Then Micron and I are almost kicked off for bickering between just the two of us???? How is that fair? To add insult to injury, do you know that my husband was ready to contact a lawyer because I was being contacted about 15 times a day? I did not respond either. That is internet stalking, and YES there is imprisonment time for that.

Many of my friends were emotional hurt in the process. Why? Because someone thinks it is fun to play with peoples emotions. That is sick and I can't believe they are still here posting.

If any of you were really my friends and you care about the forum, then please speak up. I would like to be able to come back and enjoy myself again on this forum. As long as Jim and Phil are still posting, count me out.

I did not contact anyone privately. Well, I wrote Cheyenne a friendly email away from 8notes where we talked about "Jazz Hands" and people being strange.

Please exclude me from the discussion of harrassing internet behavior as I am not involved. I was once accused of harrassment and I did not continue contact with that person by any private means.

I still am a member of this forum, like anyone else here, and should be able to post relative to the topic given in the thread. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever even started a thread of my own.

I enjoy being part of this community and I have said some mean things in the past about the abilities of others. I take it all back. You guys are awesome.

If you were a sincere person, first off you wouldn't be posting on a FLUTE forum when you don't even play that instrument. Your only goal was to harass others and try and make them feel bad. You tried to hurt my business, me and others and were downright mean and sympathetic to that fact that I had just lost a family member. On top of that, you blamed me for posting under user names, in which I did NOT do. I read everything last night, I know what went on. I guess it is okay for everyone else to let it slide when no action is taken against your mean spirited posts, but not me. I am not okay with it.

People are not my friends when they email me and go on and on about why we should ignore certain members and continue to tell me how awful they are. Then they turn around and are all nice and start replying to their posts? Haven't you learned anything? It is a vicious cycle and if you contribute to it, it is just going to happen again. So please do not contact me if you want to continue this. I am not here to solve anyone else's problems and I am done with it. I am not the moderator or the queen of the forum, I can not handle these type of people. I try and I do stick up for my friends even when no one else could be bothered to stick up for me. Thanks to my so called FRIENDS!!

That should have read "UNsympathetic"

I am truly sorry for your loss. I, myself, have lost three members of my family in the last year. I apologize for irritating you during that time.

I didn't realize that this was your store-front. If I had known that this was a legitimate business for you here I would not have commented. I don't know all of the rules of the forum but I had assumed that selling wares here required paid advertisement.

Oh, to address why I post on the flute forum, I had gotten bored of the clarinet forum one day and wandered over to see what the flutists were talking about. The first thread that I read was the one where Cheyenne had expressed concerns about being section leader for the upcoming year in marching band. A number of posts recommended that she contact her band director to call it off. I felt that this was less than top quality advice and added my two cents. From that moment on I was under attack. Labeling someone a troll is calling names and dicouraging as it makes people disregard anything that you post.

I'm sorry that someone wrote to you so much without even a reply. Whoever did that should know better and the moderator should ask them to stop. I'm not sure how, but I have read that some people are blocking senders. That may be useful in this situation.

Please don't leave the forum. Discussing topics with you has been one of my more interesting parts of my day.

If you'll accept, I'll be your friend.

I don't sell or advertise on this forum. If someone is looking for a flute that I happen to have for sale at the time and they don't have much money to spend on a flute, I then do speak up. I do not appreciate being accused other wise as I am trying to help people. I am not in it for the money.

Dear Kara:

I apologize for my outbursts in the past --- it was done in self-defense.

Please don't leave the forum, because you, Micron, Patrick and others have much to contribute.

It is my sincere regret that we are not "friends". All I ever wanted, when I came to this forum, was to be accepted.

I realize that my posts have offended a lot of people on this forum.

But, if you look at my recent posts --- it has to do with nothing but flute playing.

Please do not leave the forum, on my account. If it is your sincere wish that I leave, then I will do so, in order to accommodate you.

I have apologized to you in the past --- in fact, have asked for your help, regarding head-joints. I don't know what else to do?

Could we PLEASE get over this "back-biting" and get back to the business of discussing flutes and flute playing?

If you've read my last three posts, they have ONLY to do with flute playing --- and questions and help that I need.

If I could wish for anything on this forum, it would be to have you as a "friend". I don't know what it takes to do that. You have a remarkable insight into flutes and flute playing --- and whether you know it or not --- I DO read your informative posts.

Wish I could turn back the clock. I can't. Will "sorry -- I'll try to do better, do?"

Best Regards, Jim

I too, would like to extend my gratitude to the moderator for stepping in.

Kara, I'd also like to offer my condolences for your loss. I tried to message you, but your messages were not available due to the problem. Grief can be overwhelming, I am still deeply mourning the loss of my mother four months ago (we were very close). Allow yourself time to grieve, and do realize that situations such as what has occurred on this forum can make things feel so much worse.
Your friends are still here. We'll still be around as you go through this and get back on your feet. Take care of yourself.

Thanks Kippsix. I really appreciate that. I did turn my message button on for a brief time today and I started getting unwanted email again, so it looks like I have to turn it off again. I will have to send me real friends my private email address.

Its absolutely ridiculous that you have to turn that button off so that you don't get harrassed, and even more ridiculous that there's nothing you can do about it, since trolls aren't being removed from the forum.
Its a shame that legitimate members of the forum have to sacrifice all of the knowledge and opinion you posses just because proper measures aren't being taken against those whose only intent is to offend and insult.
Its a good thing though, that you are only 50 miles away from me (still farther than I would like) and that any time I need some advice/help...I can just call you on the phone!!
