Does anybody now about what years were those North American student models released?
24s, 225s (older version with square blow hole on HJ), 225s (with bevelled blow hole), 225sll, then finally 221.
Any information on the history of this flute would be greatly appreciated!

For those interested I did find this information on Yamaha website:
YFL24s was released between years 1973-1979. Before that there was the 22s (1969-1972) and after the 26s (1975-1979).
YFL 225s series between years 1980-2000.
Does that mean the more recent 221 flutes are made from year 2000 and up?
Also, does anybody knows why some 225s flutes still have a square cut embouchure hole?

The 2*1 series was made for a significant period before the 1991 catalogue I have that lists them.
What was available in USA may be a different story.

My post has been buried under all that junk. So UP it goes!
I am still waiting for some valuable comments. Anything you know about Yamaha flutes and their evolution will be welcome.
thanks
Dominique <Added> This sound so rude now; by junk I meant what happened last evening (dec.20th), those dozen of troll post suddenly invading the first page and part of the second page of this forum. Sorry for the confusion.

Have you tried any of the other forums? There might not be anyone on this forum that has that information. Unfortunately, I don't know myself.
Good luck!
