My F, E, D, Eb, and F# are all completely airy. So, to be direct, the lower half of the flute is "broken". The problem isn't one that's obvious to the eyes. My flute has a split E.
I think something may have slipped out of place, and don't have enough money to send my instrument to repair quite yet.
just take it to the music store and ask if they can take a look at it to see if there is really something wrong with it it shouldn't cost anything for someone to look at it and if there is something wrong with your keys just tell them you'll come back when you have enough money saved up...What flute do you play?
Oh yeah sometimes your springs on your flute pop out of place and that can also be the problem and a repair person can just pop it back into place without charge unless your spring is bent.
I am sorry to hear that your flute is broken. Maybe it is just one of the springs liken the others have suggested. Good luck. I hope it is an easy fix.
1. You have bent the G# key, probably so that it is closing at the back of the pad but not at the front, or vice-versa. Probably knocked.
2. F,E,D keys are not properly closing the F# key, i.e. the one next above the F key. Adjustment required.
3. The G key that you press is not fully closing the lower G key. Adjustment required.
My lessons start up again either tomorrow or monday, so I'll take it into my teacher as she's generally very good with the mechanics of the instrument.
