Yes, Flute World seems to have the lowest price for the leather covered French cases. They sell the nice ones. Not the China ones that smell funny with the crappy cheap velvet interior. I am such a flute case snob! lol!!!

Are you talking about the ones with the all wooden case even in the inside, but where the part of the flute lays is velvet lined? ive seen them they are nice, i havent seen them on fluteworld though. I just love the feeling of velvet, and that red burgundy color i love as well

I bought my all wood one off of ebay and re did the whole thing. I took off all the orange colored varnish and all the cheap velvet that it was lined with and replaced it with a nice wine red velvet. I was actually thinking about selling it because I don't use it because I mostly store my flute in the combination case with my piccolo.

There are some pictures of it on my site..

I am a case snob as well, so you are not alone, Northwind is the maker of most of the best cases, I just wish I could afford a really nice Wirkilla case cover...

Oh I know, me too! Those case covers are really nice. Powell makes a nice leather covered one with velvet lining for combination cases that I want. The only thing is that it does not have an interior or exterior pocket. That is not good

If you want to be a real case snob,,have a look at these, all hand made.

Some beautiful cases, but with a price to match!!
If I can remember right,they start from about £200 (about $400 if i'm right)upwards.
Oh, you got to send him your flute too, so the case can be made to be a perfect fit for it.

When I first bought a Rittershausen wooden flute in 2005 I was going to keep it and have Andrew Crawford make a combo flute and piccolo case for that flute and my wooden piccolo. Ended up selling the flute though! =( I think I'm going to be looking for a different case for my Pearl Dolce instead of the wooden one with the green lining one I have now. I know Kate wants it lol but maybe I can trade a music store or something?! I'm hoping on finding one of the more simple Pearl french-style cases (not the wooden ones) with a leather cover. Anyone want to trade? =)

Suzie, I will be bringing my Powell which comes in the case that you want with the black velvet. Let me have a look at your case when I come and I might just trade you.

It is thundering and raining this morning I hope my flight isn't delayed.
