Okay you might remeber from one of my earlier post that I tried a Debonneetbeau flute and it sounded good. I was wondering is it harder to tune vintage flutes because of the old scale and if it is how do other flautist work around it.

I think most of the older flutes are in A=440 vs the modern A=442 which would make it a little different. I assume by the name of the flute that it's of French origin however can't find it in Langwill Index-- are you certain that the name is one word and you've spelled it properly? Personally I think that the A=440 (a.k.a. older/antique) flutes have a sweeter, more mellow tone and I like them however I don't play with any groups, etc. I sold an antique wooden flute a few years ago to a woman and she plays it with some sort of symphonic band and never mentioned conflicts between tuning and the lower pitch. Good luck!
