I have decided (and have for several months0 that I want to major in Music Therapy in college, with flute as my instrument. I did just get a pretty nice flute last September, a Pearl Dolce CODA and I use a Yamaha EC hj, which will definitely get me through highschool, but would you guys on here assume that by college to get my through (and beyond) I would need to get a real professional flute.. like real professional as in the $8-10,000 range before college?
I would also like to get a degree in Music Education and continue to teach private flute lessons, and I'd also potentially like to participate in a professional symphony as well. By then I'd definitely need a prof. flute, I'm assuming my Pearl wont take me quite that far!
I am going to be a junior in HS this fall so I have two years of left. When would I start looking? Just I basically want some opinions

Im going to be a sophmore in college and I play on a Pearl Qusntz 665
...there's really no rush to buy a million dollar instrument if you like the one you have.
