Hello everyone!

Im new to the flute so thought id get involved with a flute forum! I play guitar at the moment as my first instrument and love playing jazz above everything. I have borrowed a flute from a friend to see how I deal with it! I play sax as well so have a very limited understanding of fingerings but nowhere near enough to be able to play anything 'real' on the flute.

Any tips or hints at this time would be great and if anyone knows of any good jazz fleutists then please give me the heads up!

Thanks
John

If you can, a good method book to purchase would be the "Elementary Method" for flute by Rubank. This book has a fingering chart along with exercises and scales that will help you learn flute.
