i am doing solo and ensemble coming up next year Feb. but i need to start early...i am having a hard time finding a piece. i want to go to stat so i need z grade 5 or higher..i want a piece thats rather lyrical and not syrinx.....plz help me find one.

I don't know what grade it is, but maybe the Chaminade Concertino for flute?

Just wanted to add, if you have a time limit (ours is 5 minutes for solos) it will need a pretty big chunk cut out.. its about 8 minutes long

yaei heard about the piece recently and am considering it...wouldnt i have to double ttoungue in it?..I am still learning double toungue slowly but surely and i think it is a grade 5 or higher.Our time limit is 6 min i think.

when you say grade 5, is this in the USA or UK? Here is NY State we have levels 1-6, level 6 pieces being the most difficult...

Suite in A Minor, by Telemann. I think its a grade 5. It has some technical difficulties but its one of my favorites and im doing it this year for S&E

I also live in New York, so we go by the system of grading where 1 is lowest and 6 is highest. My two favourite pieces that I've played are "Sonata VI in B Minor" by Handel (5) and "Concertino for Flute and Piano" by Chaminade (6).
