Ah the braces stage hehe, was there myself.
Don't worry about tuning at the moment, just try your best to keep it as constant as you can, but don't let it bother you for the time being, not exactly much you can do.
I remember the day I got my braces off I had a lesson that evening, and thought I wouldn't be able to play, and for the first few warm ups it was a little more wispy sounding, just because you will feel how much your embouchure changes, but almost immediately after I could hear and improvement. My tone became much stronger, and purer in pitch and the tuning became a doddle!
Don't worry yourself at the moment, just keep on practising and you'll just come on leaps and bounds :D

That first Allegro piece has very strange timing, but you did great! Your sound was much better in these pieces! Well done!
The Seashore piece was lovely! Loved the little thrills :D

the timing of allegro is quite strange, it sounds alot better with the piano part but i only have that during my flute lesson, sea shore i one of my favourite pieces actually, it sounds kinda like the sound track you here on a film on a ship to me. thanks for your comment though

The most consistent tempo/timing is that of the Allegro, I suspect because you play it in lessons with the piano part.

I had a hard time with Eidelweiss, because you change the tempo and timing sooooo much. It is a soloist's privelege to vary tempo as the music moves you, but playing with an ensemble you must match the rest of the musicians. If the ensemble is large enough to have a conductor, it must be at the conductor's tempo.

I realize that right now the metronome annoys you, but to me this is your major weakness in playing. You have sooo much going for you as far as tone, and I can tell that you have a natural aptitude for interpretation- and those qualities are what make people want to listen to you play. But at this point, the tempo variations are quite distracting, they take away from the beauty of your tone. If you can take a step back, and take a long-range look at what you need to do to improve, it would be to practice with a metronome. I, for one, would be sad to see your talent lag behind what it could be, because you don't like the metronome.

thank you for you comment tibbie, i do try to use a metronome but for edelweiss because i have played it for a while (since about 3 weeks after i started playing) i havn't played that with the metronome for a while, i do play with the piano part of allegro in my lessons but because i am not recording with my teacher i don't have it at the moment. i will try using a metronome more, i will practice one of the pieces with it and post it again,

Only listened to memory and the allegro piece that you posted most recently. Despite the really crappy speakers I have attached to my computer- it seems like you have a pretty good tone- especially for only two years of playing. Two things I will suggest- don't roll in when you're playing, you'll cover up too much of the hole with you mouth and end up with a less clear tone. Also- breathing exercises. I'm sure that if you have a lesson teacher he/she has already stressed that- if not- they're great to practice. Breath in four, out four, in eight, out eight, etc. Other than that you sound good.

thank you lyd, usually my breathing isn't that bad but i had forgotten to add in my breath marks at the end of the phrase, which didn't help, but i do that kinda of thing for singing (in school choir) usually but i haven't done choir since Christmas (exams), so i haven't done them in ages but i will start doing that again if it will help with flute.
