Anyone got any reviews/opinions/thoughts of the Jupiter 305S piccolo? I'm thinking of selling my Vito piccolo (exactly the same as a Yamaha 32), and saving up a little bit more to buy an all composite piccolo. How much do you think a used, good condition Vito picc go for?

Is the scale/tuning good? And does the mechanism feel solid?

Thanks.

Oh and are Gemeinhardt piccolos good too? I've seen a lot of 4P piccolos going for great prices!

I play on a yamaha and love it- I will say that my gemeinhardt flute is very temperamental- but dunno about their piccolos. I would imagine they would be similar.

Jupiter is coming out this year with a brand new grenadilla piccolo, it is very good and will give Yamaha a run for the money, I have in my possession one of 2-3 prototypes in the world, this picc will be a great success, I will be at NFA one day at the booth showing it...if anyone is ever in the NY city area let me know if you want to try it

Gemeinhardt piccs are generally better than thier flutes, or so I've heard. I won a gemeinhardt picc, but I haven't played enough picc to tell the difference

<Added>

I own, sorry

Wow the Jupiter wood picc. sounds pretty nice! About how much would it cost? Maybe I could wait a bit and seek into getting one.

I actually have tried a friend's Gemeinhardt piccolo 4SP, it was pretty nice, I liked the solid feel of the mechanism. I'm sure the 4P would be quite similar right?

Thank you for your answers everyone, I appreciate it

I don't know the cost, my role is as artist/clinician, but it should be on the open market soon, so you will find out soon

I like Jupiter piccolo's a lot. They play well in tune and do have a good mechanism. Mine has been very reliable the past four years that I have been playing on it. Students also do well on these for marching and concert band.
