There is a flute I like on WWBW.com and i was wondering if anyone had any experience, good or bad, with that website. Could anyone please let me know what they think of the site. Thanks

The Store is a big established supply house BUT .....
in what brand / model of instrument are you interested?
This makes a big difference in the answers.

I have read on some of these boards that the flutes WWBW sends out are not adjusted well and you need to take them to a tech before you can really play them. However, as I have no first-hand experience with WWBW, you would do well to take this with a grain of salt.
I have had excellent luck with Flute World and it seems that they have everything WWBW has and more, with the only exception being Armstrong.
Good luck!

I have never bought a flute from them, but I have bought a headjoint and some other small items. Their prices are good. When they have a sale, they can't be beat.
I would give them a try if they price is really good.

Thanks for the info, I will look at the other sites too. To reply to bilbo, i was looking at the Gemeinhardt Model 3SHB.

if you visit her site and see something you like, she can set up a trial with you, most consigners do so

Last time I checked Anne Pollack only carried high end professional flutes. I have never seen her carry a student flute such as a Gemeinhardt 3SHB. If purchasing from WWBW there is a good chance that you will have to get it tweaked by a tech even if buying new from there. Good prices, but the flutes are not set up like if you were to get it from a flute company. Sometimes Flute World will match prices too.

I was allowed a back room tour of the WWBW warehouse (or whatever you wish to call it) in 2004 and THEN they had play testers and repair folks for the instruments that were going out, etc. Since then, they've relocated slightly (or made a larger warehouse room or something like that) and now music123 is also the same as WWBW. If you live local to there it'd be worth taking a trip out there and trying things as they have soundproof [from the outside] practice rooms, etc. and could tweak anything while you're there.
