Well, I think it's best to just follow the rules and buy the music legally. Just buy it at FluteWorld.com, you can get it within a week or less.

I think that I have it on a CD in PDF forum somewhere. I also have the sheet music. I would send it to you from that CD that I have, but I think that would be breaking a copyright law.

Here: http://search.musicnotes.com/?q=franz+doppler&search_id=Top&hl=n&x=0&y=0

sells for 8.95 (Instrumental solo). No immediate download in this case, sorry.

Beware of those PDF scanned "collections" in Ebay. Apart from being most probably illegal copies, sometimes they have very bad quality, missing pages and the like.

Last year, I bought one of the "Ultimate Flute Collection" CDs that is sold on eBay. The content is solely flute works that have fallen into the public domain. These are older editions of the works. Most are available individually for download at various websites, but this collection saves me the trouble of searching for them. I think it was worth $8.99 for the convenience. The "publisher" has added their own copyright notice at the top of each page. One part of copyright law allows someone to assemble a collection of public domain works and then copyright the entire collection. So, it seems that this is legal.

I found the scans to be readable, but not perfect. So far, I have not noticed any missing pages. My biggest complaint with the collection is that it is not well organized. The CD has about a dozen PDF files with names like "A-to-B", "C-D", etc. Each PDF contains works grouped by the composer's last name. So, for example, all Mozart is in the "M-N" PDF. Unfortunately, the publisher did not organize the content of each file very well and there is no index to locate the page number of a specific work and you have to just look page-by-page to find a specific work.

I view this collection with a grain of salt. I wanted copies of several works contained on the CD to read through. I find it useful for that purpose. However, if I decide to perform one of these, I'll likely order a current edition since there are often edited versions that include different phrasing or corrects wrong notes, etc.

Those Ultimate Flute Collection CD's on eBay are copies and that is why they are not set up well. They are also illegal. I have the original by CD sheet sheet music which cost $20. It is well worth the money. I also have the one for flute methods, studies and ensembles which is also very good.
