I think it was just a typo! I typed in (i)Murimatsu(/i)on google and a load of rubbish came up!
What's a wooden flute headjoint like?

<Added>

Oops! I meant the 'Murimatsu' bit to be in Italics, but I used the wrong brackets!

skuterbum,

Could you please tell us what exactly the wood Eppler headjoint did for your flute's sound and playability? Have you compared it to other customized, handmade silver headjoints for the same flute? If so, what are the differences?

thanks!

hmmm... interesting question.

The wood headjoint is warmer. I wanted to play jazz and some rock and the armbiture (sp?) is more easily attacked for that style of playing. the stock headjoint is really more suited to classical performance and not sliding and bending notes.

I didn't try any other silver headjoints because that wasn't the sound and feel that I wanted. I followed Bradley Leighton's lead after talking to him and listening to his flutes.
