I have an Armstrong, and I love it a lot, so I really don't know if I would sell it. But if I could keep it and get a second flute, it would be a Yamaha. What's your flute, and whats your dream flute?
Mateki M001 I picked up used last year. I grew up near Boston so have always had a fondness for Haynes, but a nice Nagahara with a custom Lafin headjoint would float my boat.
I play an Amadeus, but a Haynes seems appealing - for no particular good reason. There are lots of choices. It's hard to get them together to play them. It also takes an expert to recognize the good and bad differences between them. It seems that even two instruments of the same model can be quite different. If I could have a few of each for about 6 months maybe I could choose better

I recently purchased an Azumi 3000 and I love it. I retired my Gemeinhardt M3S that I have had since 1972. I will keep it for sentimental reasons (it was a gift from my parents). I love the way the new flute plays and sounds. For me the head joint is perfect.
Mine's a Barrington, and I love her. My dream flute would probably be... Actually, I don't know. A Matit would be interesting, but no-one would be able to repair it, and I'll settle for a flute that's made of metal.
I play a Pearl Flute with an Arista L2 Cut headjoint;
I'f I could have my dream flute, I'd have a 14K Muramatsu with 9K gold, engraved keys and an 18K Lafin headjoint...

I have a Gemeinhardt and I am giong to buy a new flute and I am just now trying different flutes. I tried several Yamahas but the one which probably will buy is an AZUMI 3000. I is wonderful.
