Hey all, I've recently purchased a Jupiter flute of which I can find no information about on the big WWW's.

The model # is SFL-513E with a serial # of 44857. It comes with a curved head and a straight head, has a split E mechanism.

Is there anyone out there who knows it's origins and if it's any good? It seems to me to be a wonderful playing instrument with a lovely tone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like one of their student models. The "E" connotates the split E mechanism.

If you're happy with its tone and what you can do with it, then that's probably all that matters.

i agree, as long as it plays nicely and is something a repair tech will touch if it breaks then who cares, i don't. i have a jupiter 611R and it plays nicely, need a COA soon though, but they are good little flutes (mine has open holes and a silver head, so is a step up from yours) and a reputable make too.
