Hi, Iv just been given a "Sky USA" flute for christmas, I have learned some basics but i need a bit of guidence so i dont get into bad habits. I had never held a flute before in my life so i am finding it quite difficult to get the notes just right. If anyone would be willing to give me a bit of advice whether your a pro or an amateur, i would be really grateful. I have set up a skuype account just for this purpose so if anyone would like to help my username is "tootingtheflute" thanks darren

It's really difficult, even for an experienced professional, to give you advise without actually seeing what you're doing.
Best thing is to get classes with a teacher, so your playing grows gradually and without the risk of acquiring bad habits.
Pacience and dedication, these are the keys...

yea i can see your point, but my only problem is there is no way that i can afford lessons at the minute, so my only option is internet lessons on youtube or get help from someone on a webcam.
