My original flute has been sent in to be fixed and so they gave me a rental one for school. When I play it, it sounds like I just started playing a few days ago. I can barely make a sound on it. I can play my broken flute better than I can play this one. When I played my original flute, the sound was a bit airy, but the sound was A LOT clearer than on this one. I'm not doing anything different. I'm first chair and we have contest coming up and I have a solo. HELP
There is never a good time to send your instrument in for repairs. And loaners are often less than good enough to get by, as you are finding out. With my Horn students I have a top end horn I loan out to them when they need it but very few private teachers do this.
If you have a private teacher ask them if they, or one of their advanced students, has a second or old flute they could rent to you until yours comes back. That's really the only solution I can think of.
Why are you asking on a forum about this? How are we going to fix this broken flute for you? Go take it back to the music store. Wow! That was a hard one!
This "someone" joined this forum recently and has frequently been rude and obnoxious. Because there is no longer a "thumbs up/thumbs down" feature, the only thing you can do is use the Report button to flag the postings for the moderator. I know that many people have done this already.
