As long as it is good quality, and sounds real nice, im fine with it. I am the top flutist in my school, but im poor lol. I need something that can be up to par with me.

In that price range I would look at composite piccolos. Pearl makes a nice composite piccolo in that price point. Guo makes a nice composite plastic piccolo called the "New Voice" piccolo that is $700. I have a New Voice piccolo and love it. You can get both piccolos on trial from www.fluteworld.com
