oops... i just dropped my flute, well it was leaning on a wall (i know careless, but i was gonna be righ back) and then it slid down and fell on the ground! ugh... i didn`t notice any dents, but it landed on the mechanism, how delicate are those? is it possible it could be out of tune now? what should I look for? thanks..

Did u trying blowing it? How it sounds now? Maybe u can try looking for cracks or splits. But I guess it should be ok, flutes are quite durable. I know how u feel now. I dropped my viola a few mths back. And I went OMG too. But it seems that most of our instruments are much more durable than we think they ought to be. So relax, dun worry.

it sounds okay, well sorta, 2 me it sounds a little more breathy the tone, but i think i might just be imagining it... and i was scared cause i had been reading these websites saying, "NEVER put pressure on the mechinism IT IS EXTREMELY delicate" it freaked me out and made me overly cautious.. and thanks 4 the advice dw..

you should check if any part of the mechanism is loose or if the wires are out of place.
Actually, my teacher said that you should never hold ure flute by the mechanism, so i thought that if i drop it, its the end!!!
but i think that it is kinda delicate...just try not to drop it again
