wow what a coincidence, my orchestra is playing that in our scottish themed concert, along with mendelsson's 3rd(?) symphony and "The Hebrides". unfortunately, we only have scotland the brave parts handwritten by the conductor. sorry i cant be of more help, just thought it was a coincidence!

were playing the one called "fingals cave" and i have no idea why mendellsson is in a scottish themed concert but were playing with bagpipes and have scotia highland dancers
i only joined the orchestra last thursday and got told we had a concert on the sunday and this sunday, at the thursday rehearsal i only had a Bb clari, but most of the mendellsson stuff was for an A, so i basically sight read at the concert lol
should be better this sunday tho, were doing a repeat

after a bit of reasearch, i discovered the hebrides was inspired by visits to scotland in the 1820s and symphony 3 was inspired by this too
there are a lot of scottish motifs in the pieces, and dotted rhythms which sound very scottish
thats why its a scottish themed concert :D

(symphony 3 is also known as "The Scottish")
