i know this is the same message thing as my other one but I seriously need help, and i need it asap. by monday. so if ou have any suggestion whatsoever, now`s the time to give it. please.

Whenever I tongue, my notes always come out staccato, no matter what. I`ve tried using the syllable "doo" or "dah", and my clarinet teacher told me to put more mouthpiece in my mouth but all I seem to be accomplishing is making lots of squeaks. I have to try out for All-State band in a few months and I really need to break this habit ASAP or else I`m in a lot of trouble for the auditions. It seems to get worse when I`m tonguing in the upper register. If I try hard enough I can tongue legato in the lower register, such as the chalemeu and throat tones, but never above those. My clarinet teacher says if I use more air it will get better. I have but it doesn`t seem to be getting any better. Any advice?

Are you holding your tongue there or something? it`s just a quick tap and away from the reed w/ air flow continuing even while tounging or else it will sound choppy and defeats the purpose of tounging. Hope this helps
