Do any of you play Mozart's Clarinet concertos?

I am a guitarist and a recorder player, so I don't know how many concertos he wrote for the clarinet, but I heard at least one. Oh, it sounded lovely!

Any of you play this music?

Ohhh yes Mozart's clarinet concerto. Im playing that this year, it's a brilliant piece that's nice and easy to listen to compared to alot of other clarinet solos. Obviously the clarinet concerto shares MANY qualities to his other works, like the flute and harp concerto for instance. All three movements are very good, and funnily enough i have heard the 2nd movement the most on the radio.

Yes, this is probably the most famous clarinet music, the 2nd movement being most commonly played on radio, tv, and movies, almost everyone will have heard it, even if they dont know what it is - it is an essential piece for all clarinettists to learn, as it it also commonly used for orchestra tryouts. it tests speed, agility, stamina, tone, and much much more; you can really express yourself with this music.

As far as im aware, this is the only clarinet concerto that Mozart wrote, but please correct me if im mistaken

Im in the final stages of learning this piece too, and it is an absolute joy to play

you mention Mozart's Concerto For Flute And Harp.

Isn't that music just heavenly? I can't get over it!

It is in C, right?

Yes, that concerto is brilliant too, and yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's in Cmajor. You really wonder how a flautist could be that delicate for about half an hour!

Yes, Mozart only wrote one clarinet concerto, but it's one of the greatest works for our instrument, and the most important. I wouldn't recommend playing it until your already quite a good clarinetist because it's so important (and actually harder than it seems).

I love this song!!! I'm in 8th grade and I played it for solo and ensemble contest this year. I had so much fun with it because you can express yourself so much. It is, as previously stated, a lot harder than it looks, but it's worth it. I practiced so much!!! It paid off though.
