Hey I always practice my clarinet everyday, around 1-2hours per day. However, recently I feel that I am not improving much in my playing. My tone is not improving, fingers still uneven and stuff. When I go to my teacher every week, he even thinks I am not practicing much. Can anyone help me on practicing? How should I practice? Can I have some tips on raising the effectiveness of practicing please?

Oh and my high notes (the ones above the ledger lines) are piercing. And I need to get the high A (the second A above ledger line) for one of my exam pieces. Any ideas on how to practice those too?

I have been playing for only one year, but I do know that in order to be able to control your high notes, you must have a good strong embouchure.

Practice going up and down the chromatic scale if you want to work of finger mobility, and as far as the sound of notes go, most of the time, it just takes time in general to produce a desired sound, if you find that after an "ungodly" amount of time, you have ceased to improve, i would look into trying differnt reeds or mabye a new mouthpiece. Just keep practicing, don't give up, all of us run into situations such as yours, all on varied levels.
