I had a Buffet B12 and tried various mouthpieces and bought the Vandoren B40. This really improved the sound of the instrument.
I have now just bought the Buffet R13. My question is, would anyone advise sticking with this mouthpiece, or should I try different ones again and would they improve the tone any more? I presume the ones that didnt sound so good on the B12 may sound different on the R13. Am I right? Thanks.

Well....yes....in a sense. Different mouthpieces are meant for different clarinets and may even sound differently. I would advise you to keep the mouthpiece that you have now, unless you have an absolute need for a new one. Now that you've moved up on the clarinet ladder, I'm pretty sure that there are many great mouthpieces for the R13 clarinet. The B40 is a very good model.

Thanks very much - will continue with this one as tone seems really good but will try out others in future.
Thanks
