because pianos and professional clarinets are definitely the same thing.

that's wwbw's list of professional clarinets, from low to high price. not neccesarily "order one here!" but a good place to get an idea. i'm sure theres other clarinets out there too. i'm not a soprano player really, but my bass clarinet is buffet and i like it, and i know people who like their buffets alot. but people also like selmers, et cetera- get what you like best

Vintage Vito clarinets are especially good. Mine cost considerably more than $3000 though.

My first posts here (over 2 years ago) deal with this same topic. here is the link to the exact page:

Perhaps you could use the AllExperts web site to answer your question. I have used it and have gotten great clarinet advice from it!

Well, I reackon the Buffet R13 is the way to go, check some out on ebay (american) and you can get them for around $1,000 + there are lots of them around and they're a very good clarinet, but i've only been looking into buffets so i can't say much about any other models.
I just got a RC Buffet for $2,200 (usually $4-6,000), so you can get some really good deals.
p.s. america is the way to go, in Australia most RC's are $5,000 to $8,000. We got one for less than half the price.
Ebay is good (usually) + it has the 'item sendback' rule thingy if you dont like it.
