Use a program like One note if you want to do it on the computer. Select the instrument alto sax, and place it in the key that you need. Write in the music and then change it to be in B flat.

D=Cb=Fb

I rarly play on alto or bari saxophones, I play in most cases in the key of c and Bb
So main few are Flute Tenor/Soprano saxophones, and Clarinet

You could also sight transpose the music by playing the alto sax music a fifth lower than written. So if the alto part has an A written, you would play a D on clarinet.

I noticed this while playing around with alto sax. music
However it only works for the lower register but with a bit of thinking you will
be able to do it on higher notes too.
Remember this works for the lower notes only.
To play Eb music on a Bb instrument, play the music exactly as written but finger it like you would finger the clarion register of the clarinet.
For example a middle c on an Eb music sheet would be fingered like the c (ie. no ledger lines,all fingers down) in the upper register except that the register key is not pressed down (the note is actually an F on the clarinet).
A D above middle c would be fingered as a D in the clarion register(actually the lowest G on the clarinet).And so on.......
That way you can transpose without even knowing how to transpose.
