If you want to buy what are widely thought of as `good` clarinets, then go for the big four - Buffet, Yamaha, LeBlanc and Selmer. But my suggestion would be to try out as many clarinets as are available to you and choose your favourite. Play every note of the clarinet`s range, check for tone, tuning etc. Also, I would recommend taking along a professional clarinetist eg. your teacher. I always take my teacher along when I`m buying a new instrument and I`ve never bought an instrument and regretted it yet. Good luck to you and enjoy your new clarinet.

i tink buffet is one of the best clarinets around (tt`s why most professionals use it) and i am using a buffet rC.. its really good. but i suggest you get a good mouthpiece first before getting a good clarinet. i tink mouthpieces are more important.

well it depends wether you want a profesional clarinet or wether you might want to upgrade again. 2 good clarinets from buffet are the r13 (profesional about £1,200)and the e13(intermediate i`m not sure how much this costs) try out lots of different clarinets then find a few you like and then i would try some mouthpeices your teacher ot the store recomend to you. then chose one!
