Does a soprano Eb clarinet use the same Bb clarinet reeds or an alto's reeds? I need to know before buying one, which might be in 3 days.

Eb clarinets are MUCH smaller than Bb clarinets and although both clarinets are referred to as being 'soprano' clarinets, the Eb clarinet mouthpiece (and reed!) is MUCH smaller than that of a Bb clarinet. You may be able to substitute a sopranino saxophone reed for an Eb soprano clarinet reed but you'd have better luck with just an Eb cl. reed. Good luck!

Thats the problem. It has it's own type of reed. I've checked in music stores and Ebay, but neither has them! I have checked over and over again in ebay but never shows up. Does anyone have any clue where i can most easily get them?

I have a C clarinet which I believe is even smaller than the Eb. I make my own reeds by cutting and sanding down the ordinary Bb reeds. If you need instructions on how to do this there is a lot of information on the internet. Just GOogle "clarinet reeds".

Alanporter, think you can show me a pick of a C? Can't find one, and since its smaller it sounds more interesting to get >.< But i thought the C is WAY bigger than a Bb

Hi Gordo
Sorry I can't show a photo of my C clarinet, my camera died last week and I haven't got access to one at present.
The C clarinet measures 22 inches from the tip of the mouthpiece to the end of the bell, compared to 26 1/2 inches for a Bb instrument.

I buy Eb reeds all the time. Though over the years many music stores have to order them in. But almost all stores I've dealt with do this.
