Hi,

I have never heard of jupiter Clarinets before so I don`t think that they are great for a professional or intermediate instrument. If you are just looking for a student model they seem to be ok though. I know you said you don`t want to get a buffet but, I would highly recommend them. I play on a buffet R13 greenline and love it. I think if you are looking to play clarinet for a long time they would be a good investment. I feel that they are worth the extra money. How my opinion was a help!

Well I played a Jupiter bass clarinet my first year... I can tell you it wasn't all that great. Springs came out like made, and the peg always jammed up and wouldn't come out. The tone was okay-ish, but if you ask me, I prefer my Yamaha right now. THe price of the bass clarinet was about 2000$ which is the same as my current one. So if your talking price for bass clarinets they're no cheaper.

Whoops... I ment to say mad not made xD

if u can afford it, id go with a yamaha instead. ive known a few people who ve gotten them before, and overall nobody REALLY liked them; i mean they were ok, but not a clarinet ud ever fall in love with.

Thanks guys, you are really helpful.

It is just that a Buffet E11 which I want to buy is 995 dollars plus tax, and that is quite a lot of money!

I think I will have to wait till Christmas. :?

Thanks for the help.

I would recommend a Buffet Greenline. I play on the Greenline R13 and I am very happy with it. It has the same tone as a pure wood clarinet without so much danger of cracking. I used to play on a Lablanc and it was a decent instrument too, if you don`t want something as expensive as a Buffet.

i have a old (almost antique) boosey and hawkes, it is very nice, it might be a good idea to look for one, if you want a resonable student model, i'd choose selmer, yamaha or buffet, i got the chance to try a very nice buffet the other night(my friends) it played beautifully

i play clarinet and i have a Leblanc 7214 and i love it. I also would prefer Selmer, Buffet, Leblanc, and Artley.
