When you play a chromatic scale quickly, how do you change from the Bb to B? Whenever I try to play the scale fast, I can never change from Bb to B - when my fingerings go from a Bb to a B, no sound ever comes out. =( Any tips?
If you mean the high notes then have your hand ready on G so when you start to go to B all you have to do is just put the first joint fingers down. If you mean the low than rember 1st than 2nd on the lower joint
you may also have a minor leak with your instrument. If you have B speaking problems especially going from the throat Bb to B.
also make sure that, if you are using your right pinky to play B that you are not shifting you 3rd ring finger a bit. Many students do that without knowing, which causes a leak which prevents the spatula key notes from speaking properly
Practise A-Bb slurred building speed up. Keep all RH fingers down on the A as well as 2nd & 3rd LH fingers down. Pracise rolling the LH pointer from A key to 1st hole (F#). When doing this, keep LH pointer on the bottom of A key. Now do the same going Bb to B.
