Hi,

I have a seating audition coming up. Just wondering what scales you guys would advise I play. I have to pick two major scales. I know all the major scales and I can play G,F,and E 3 octaves.
Thanks in advance!

If you get to pick I suggest you play E and Db.

It looks like JOhnlovemusic read my mind, I was going to suggest scales with four or more sharps/flats.

This may be my first time hearing about a student allowed to pick their scales. I've seen some situations where the teacher/judges tell the students to play some scales then all of a sudden request for Cb major, just to see if the student is really prepared.

But then again, I've read on another clarinet board where a student flubbed on C major (used B flat by mistake)

In any case, I like JOhnlovemusic's suggestion. If you have sufficient time to prepare those two scales, by all means work on them.

Good luck, I hope you do well
