Hi guys,
looking for a decent piece to play which is grade 5 or 6, playing it for a solo. Any ideas?

not sure! I just know that my teacher said it was between grade 5 and 6 and I played it for my college audition!

In New York I believe it is a 6. It may have recently been bumped to a 5. Where are you going to school?

if youre auditioning for a college play some kind of standard rep. theres a mozart piece for clarinet thats pretty standard(cant remember the name). you play cappricio by sutermeister but they might hate you if you do that.

The Mozart Clarinet Concerto gets played very often as an audition piece, and serves well in that capacity. As for the Sutermeister. I studied it a couple of semesters ago, and I don't think it is appropriate to serve as an audition piece.
And, in any case, both pieces are above a level 5, in pretty much any grading system...

hah yeah but itd be funny if he walked in there with sutermeister. thats why i said they might hate him.
