Hey,
We are looking to get a clarinet for our mum as she has always wanted to play. She hasn't got wrist extension and minimal wrist flextion due to arthritis. I have been told that it should be ok, but before buying one or hiring one we would rather make sure so it's not such a dodgy, unsuccessful christmas present. If it could be ok, what would be a good clarinet to purchase for her to learn on that isn't too expensive.
Would anyone know if this would be a possibility at all or are we hoping for too much?
Thanks!

idk really. but her right thumb has to hold up the clarinet. this could be a problem. if it is them you should get her a neck strap. this should help alittle

If she has trouble bending her fingers she will need a clarinet with plateau keys. She may not be able to close open holes properly.
