What`s the history behind my Bundy clarinet?

What`s the history behind my Bundy clarinet?    14:47 on Saturday, December 19, 2009

Hi! I have a Bundy clarinet that I've been playing for almost 5 years and I love it to death. However, I know almost nothing about it besides what I can see from the instrument. Well, I decided I would like to know as much as I can about it. Here are the facts:

I have a signature on my mouthpiece: Leo m Bundy.
There is a serial number on the body: 584168.
The ligature has FRANCE inscribed on it.
On the barrel, there is an appearance of what used to be a BUNDY logo, but it has disappeared other than a slight reminiscence of it.

But that's it. I've done my research and I know the history of the Bundy company, (acquired by Selmer, some clarinets are resonite plastic, etc.) but I want to know these things:

Is it plastic or wood?
and
The year of manufacture. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I'm sounding pushy, but I really would like to know. Thank you so much!

Check out this link to see if you have a wood or plastic clarinet.

I'm just curious, sometimes you can find the age of a clarinet by the look of the case. I have an older bundy clarinet and the year it was made was the year they were using the case that I have. So what does your case look like?

Yes, I have seen the video but to no avail. My case is green and rectangular, with a silver "BUNDY" written inside of a small circle near the bottom of both sides of the case.

From what I found your clarinet is from the 1970's. They were supposedly really well made back then. Although, I couldn't find out if it is plastic or wood.

Your clarinet case sounds like mine... does it have line like things at the bottom of the case?

P.S I just got this info from the internet so I don't know how reliable it is. (^:

The only Bundy clarinets I've seen have been plastic.

InstrumentCrazy: Yes it does. I'm pretty glad to hear that actually! My Bundy plays extremely well for a student instrument, even my band director told me so. Thank you so much! By the way, where on the internet did you find this information?
contra448; I'm beginning to agree with you. It's not so bad though; I'm thinking of upgrading to a wooden instrument.

I got the serial numbers from this website. It's kinda confusing though. So I'm sorry if I'm off on the year.

I think we may have the same clarinet, a really good clarinet player told me that my clarinet is from the 70's. And that they were really well made back then.
