Hello - a friend just pointed me your way, and thought that
somebody here might be able to help me out.

I used to play clarinet in HS - not the greatest, but it was
fun and kept me out of trouble. ;-)

Growing up, I knew that my Mom had played clarinet while in
HS during the `50's, early `60's, and had been in the band,
going on competitions, etc., and had evidently been pretty
good at it. I do remember her saying that it had been an
expensive model even back then, as my grandfather had
practically had kittens when my grandmother had told him how
much it was going to cost. But, since she was the only
daughter, and Nan's nagging , she got it.

Shortly before she'd died in 2010, she'd given me her old
clarinet, a LeBlanc, saying that it'd need fixed, as the cork
at the joints had dried out, that maybe one of my girls might
be interested in learning how to play it.

We had it fixed to the tune of abt $250, and now supposedly
sounds great. I was just trying to figure out how old it was,
and from what I can find doing the Google-thing, LeBlanc is
iffy as far as being able to tell you anything about their
past history, via serial numbers.

Anybody know anything about them? I *THINK* that it's a
Symphonie model, but I don't know - I haven't even been able
to find a basic guide to figuring out the model, etc..
