My biggest accomplishment is probably that I`ve played in the regional youth symphonic orchestra (without screwing up!).

My goal is to enjoy the music.

Umm...I guess my biggest accomplishment would probably be making Wind Ensemble, our schools audition band as a sophomore. We went on tour to Washington DC too. THat was awesome.

My other biggest accomplishment is less related to playing and more just to general accomplishments. My school had no Dixieland Band so a friend and myself formed one and we are student led entirely. We have lasted 2 full years now and played at several amazing performances with large audiences which is just great.

I think my goals for myself are to earn a higher chair placement in the next few years, be section leader for marching band next year, and to continue the dixie band. We are going to start charging for our performances soon and try to earn money for various things we are planning including a trip to New Orleans in a couple years! yay! Well, that was a bit off topic but I am really excited about it! lol

Uh-I guess I have several. Making All-State for SouthCarolina two years in a row being a freshman this year. I was also apart of a local LongBayYouth Symphony Orchestra. I am very happy to say that I was also apart of MarchingBand StateFinals this year as a freshman...and being Drummajor for MyrtleBeach in the next year or so. I attended Furman Universities Band &Orchestra camp this year and for two years in a row made the highest band in the program (wind ensemble) and making an amazing clarinet quartet. My goal is to learn more instruments that I already play (sax(s)*double, soprano ~spare time, trumpet, *theory practice on piano, and the flute.

Do I brag as much as a trumpet player???
Lol, anyways...lemme hear sum-more...

My biggest achievement on my clarinet is making it into our high school`s wind ensemble (the top band there, audition only) as a freshman. I made that goal back in 5th or 6th grade and stuck to it through middle school.

After having done that, my new long-term goal is to make the top band as a freshman at the college I want to attend. I went to a music camp there this summer and it only made me want to work harder to achieve that goal.

*Waves at Kater* Yay for finding 8notes!!

I would have to say that my greatest accomplishments would be:
Making it to New York`s All-State Symphonic Band without a private lessons teacher
Playing at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops
and Being a successful conductor for the past 7 years (and counting) of groups varying in both style and skill level (from HS to semi-pro)

Hey Charlie...

What year were you in All State? I live in New York, and at the June NYSSMA Festival I got a 100 on both my clarinet and jazz piano auditions for All State.

Do you know generally if all clarinets who get 100 make it in All State, or do they usually cut some people?

Also, do you know how many clarinets are in each group (Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra)?

I know I`m kinda picking on you, but I`m interested. I don`t like waiting until the end of August to find out everything!

Response is greatly appreciated.

lets see, im going to be a sophomore this year, and i made it into our schools audition band, wind symphony in third chair, only behind two seniors. (well im actually fourth due to a mess up on my audition but i promise i can beat her as soon as school starts ) i have been first chair ever since we had chair auditions in 7th grade. i am an assistant squad leader in marching band as a sophomore. i play tenor sax in jazz band, and i play piano in my spare time. our freshmen band was one of only two freshmen bands to make it to ohio musical education association (OMEA) state finals for concert band, and our AA marching band recieved a one in all competitions including state finals. my clarinet quartet got a one in a omea adjuticated ensamble event.

i plan to become more skilled on tenor sax and get some solos this year, and advance my skills on trumpet. when i am a junior, my goal is to be first or second in wind symphony and a squad leader or even section leader in marching band. marching band is going to disney this year too so that will be fun. also to get excepted in a music college when that time comes.

wow you guys really have done great things. keep them coming and never let music leave your life

Biggest accomplishment so far? Stringing the first 6 notes I`ve learned into a tune and learning the note positions on the stave. What I`m aiming for next is adding middle B to my repetoire, but not until I have C D E F G and A completely licked

Yeah, I only started Clarinet yesterday

my greatest achievments as a clarinet player are making it into the california all-state band as a freshman on contrabass clarinet and this year my sophmore year on Bb soprano clarinet.
Also Eugene Corporon (director of musci at north texas) tried to get me too play contra with him at north texas school of music, but i was only a freshman. he said i had the most amazing sound on a contra that he had ever heard

My biggest accomplishment is being recruited for 5 university music programs and I am 15. I also run my schools junior band by my self, I played in my provincial honour band, and I am section leader/first chair clarinet for my school`s honour band, and my towns youth symphony.

My goal is to be a high school music/english teacher and major in music in university. I also want to eventually get a Ph.D. in clarinet.

My biggest accomplishment is finally having learned the clarinet polka so I can play it with the rest of the polka band. It took me a long time to learn it because I am blind. My goal is to be able to enjoy playing it and not have to worry about making mistakes or forgetting parts of it.
