Hi
Since i started playing my lips have been really sore, sometimes even bleeding after i play, they feel ok during playing but the next day theyll be really dry and just after a lesson theyll really hurt. I need to know of sometihng other than Blistex and vaseline that i can put on them-it needs to be avaliable in the UK.Playing also gave me bad dry skin undermy lips but that went away with hydroquartasone cream(sp)
Please help

Wow, the oboe reed should not give you that many problems. Check to see if the reeds you are using are too hard. But anyway, get some "chap stick" (if that is available where you live) and apply it before playing. Also try not to lick your lips too much while playing. This can cause them to crack. Hope this helps.
