it won't affect your playing that much, although it depends on how you play (whether you put more lip in your mouth, or if you play with a more puckered embouchure for instance)
since the reed doesn't go that far in the mouth it doesn't make that big of a difference, although it might affect your endurance. i had braces for a long time, and it didn't affect my tone at all.

hmm i don't know. i had my braces before i started playing. i don't think it would affect your playing as much. i think it's easier to get used to than getting them off, lol.

don't worry about it my friend who plays the oboe got braces fairly recently and they don't affect her tone or anything although her embouchure goes quicker than normal when she gets tired

I have been playing with braces for a year now... and Maestro Maniac is right!! It is very hard to get used to at first, but it will eventually kick in. They luckily do not affect the your sound or projection. They just affect how you position the mouth on the reed.
Good Luck!!!

You may be lucky! Braces actually improved my playing!
Just don't play for too long when you first get braces or it can be painful.
