hiya,
i am new and my dad has just bought me an oboe, its a selmer london.
is this a good oboe because my friend also has an oboe but hers has lots more keys on it and i dont know why.

No, sorry. Selmer double reeds are the worst. I started out on a bundy, then i went to a new Loree Royal AK. My suggestion to you would get a used loree (regular or AK), or a fox 400 or 800. Selmers concepts lie best in their saxes. I would stay away from plastics except loree's syntetic top joint, if you play outside often. But best of luck.

As a starting oboe its fine, although there are definitely better oboes to start with. i personally started on a fox 330 and its a great resonite oboe.
