hello, I play the clarinet, but I want to move onto the oboe. Has anyone experienced this? Anyway, I bought my reed already, and all I managed to play is a small, timid high pitched sound, unlike the screeching duck-like sound my oboist does. I know I have to exert more pressure than I do on the clarinet, but can anyone pinpoint my problem? The oboist in my orchestra is currently MIA, so I can't ask him, Thanks!

well, i know exactly what u are talking about. i switched from clarinet to oboe in 8th grade. um maybe ur reed isnt wet enought. just remember to give it lots of air and use your stomach muscles to help you. i hope that helps any.
