OH! this has happened to me before. Umm ... one of ur keys might be stuck ...... i really don't know how to explain it, but like .... there's a cork that goes up when u press down the Right Eb key [very bottom] ... umm .... hehe. I'm sorry ... I really don't know how that helps but .... it could also be just an old reed, maybe?

well .... new reeds may also be the problem, but it's most likely your oboe. I do highly recommend u take it to ur band director and if he/she can't fix it, they'll probably put it in the repair shop. It's very common. Last year, mine was in the shop or my director had to look at it like 5 time. lol ... and I mean, well ... for me, when they put it in the repair shop, it won't cost u anything ... BUT if it's your own oboe .. that might be a different story. maybe a cork needs to be replaced or something. do u have any stiff keys? like .. hard to press down keys? or is ur right hand Eb key squeeking when u press down on it?

With the oboe unassembled do you see one key open when you depress the Eb key, and close when the key is released?

It's an adjustment screw. Press down your Eb key- do you see the key that moves up? It's right below the low trill C key. The screw on the other end of it is probably out of adjustment. Take a screwdriver and I would think tighten it.. I'm not sure what your situation is. Remember where the screw is set, and experiment with it for a little bit. If it doesn't do anything, return it to it's original spot, and take it to someone to be checked.

One thing could be you need to make a more "O" shaped in your mouth to get the sound out.
