For the life of me, I cannot find a bassoon teacher in Atlanta.
I currently am a second year student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and am picking up bassoon after a little while of not playing. I'm having a really rough time with getting into it again, and I don't know if it's because the bassoon's not in tip top condition, my reeds are horrible, or if I just can't play as well anymore(I suspect it's at least a combination of 2/3). Bassoon is not my life, nor does it have anything to do with what I want to do for a living, so I'd need a teacher who understands this. I used to take lessons from Shelly Unger, and then from Fletcher Forehand, though I don't think either are available options at the moment. I'm having to get by with mass manufactured reeds, and what I think are leaky bassoons (I don't have 5k to spend on a hobby... so I use one of the university's bassoons) and I'm trying to practice properly, but I'm just getting so frustrated.
Please, any help would be most appreciated. I just need the name of someone around the 30332 zip code, or even just one or two marta stops away.

Have you tried putting out a call on the IDRS forum (International Double Reed Society)? You might have luck there.
