Recently I have decided to attempt starting a chamber music group or a woodwind quintet. Any music suggestions? I have really looked for something different, foriegn to play, but have had no luck...

What's 'foreign' to you?
Two good places to look:
www.trevcomusic.com
www.juneemerson.co.uk
There's plenty on these sites for all tastes & abilities.
Happy hunting.

For wind quintet, try the Three Shanties by Arnold. They are great pieces. Also look for any of the quintets by Reicha. They are pretty standard and a ton of fun.

For something "different" and "foreign", I'd try chasing up the George Dreyfus sextet for didgeridoo and wind quintet; I'm not sure of its exact title, hence my lower case lettering. It's fairly "outside" but not scary.
Dreyfus also wrote a fantastic piece for wind quintet on its own: the Quintet after the Notebook of J-G Noverre (1968). It's of moderate modernity and extraordinary difficulty; in those two respects it's roughly on a par with the Harbison, say. I have the Canberra Wind Soloists CD (CSM:14). You'll need a horn player of Hector McDonald's capabilities to attack this piece ... not to mention four other hot-shot players as well.
